Who’s Alex

I've spent my career helping organizations change how work gets done

I’ve worked as a consultant, delivery lead, architect, coach, and portfolio manager. Today, I lead learning and enablement at Outcomes360.

At university, I started a club to help people feel less afraid of computers. Years later, I felt that same uncertainty before my first Replit deployment. Remembering what it takes to begin is part of how I teach.

Delivery, coaching, and portfolio management have given me different views of change at scale. I look for the connection between what an organization is trying to achieve and what people need to do it. A rollout is one milestone; the more useful question is what it enables people to accomplish together.

I use AI to question my thinking as well as produce a draft. I ask it to find weak assumptions and alternatives I may have missed, then decide what holds up. That keeps responsibility for judgment with me.

My Journey

Every chapter, in order

Auditor / Information Systems Specialist

Deloitte & Touche

I was hired to help set up an IT department and ended up training as an auditor as well. My work covered corporate audits and financial compliance across airlines, banking, insurance, manufacturing and heavy industry. It is the most useful accident in my career. Auditing teaches you to go and look at the work rather than trust the description of it, and I have never stopped doing that.

Senior Consultant

Accenture

My work was systems integration and enterprise systems. At Saudi Aramco, I ran an SAP impact assessment that mapped more than five hundred interfaces to SAP modules. At Saudi Cable Company, I led the logistics team on an SAP implementation, down to the process for cutting cable on drums and accounting for it. At a government finance ministry, I led an Oracle Financials implementation that brought purchasing and finance together and built a new chart of accounts. I also worked on the disaster recovery and business resumption plan for Saudi Hollandi Bank, ABN AMRO's joint venture, covering 55 branches and 400 ATMs. It is where I first saw how much of a system's success is decided before anyone writes a line of it.

Senior Project Leader

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA)

I joined Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL), now part of Emirates Global Aluminium, an aluminum smelter with more than 3,200 employees, exporting to 44 countries. First I led the functional team implementing Oracle Financials, working with fifteen business area owners to take the steps that added no value out of budgeting, procurement, payments, order processing, shipping and invoicing. Then I led the selection of a $3.4M maintenance management system, from user requirements through the bid evaluation, with a business case projected to pay back in 20 months. Heavy industry, where the systems sit alongside a physical process that does not pause while you get the requirements right.

Senior Project Manager

Logica UK, Ltd. (now part of CGI)

I led program delivery and bid management for client engagements across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. For Saudi Telecom, I planned and delivered a $10M virtual call center, merging three call centers across more than 25 systems and 15 vendors. On that program, against pushback on cost, I argued for a contingency reserve to air-freight equipment if the Strait of Hormuz closed. Regional conflict made it a live risk, and the reserve paid for the air freight. I also ran an offshore team of twenty in India building internet and phone banking, and managed bids from $1M to $15M. Process is what you run when nothing is happening. Judgment is what you need when something is.

Head of Applications Section

United Nations

I ran all applications and information systems for a UN agency of more than twenty-five thousand staff in five locations, delivering education, health and relief services. That meant setting the strategy and writing the policies and procedures. I built a development method that cut system development time by 66 percent, and reorganized the team around roles instead of one person owning a whole project. Build the team around roles, not heroes.

Strategic Advisor

Tristar Web Solutions

I built a five-year growth strategy and IT roadmap tied to the company's business goals and financials. To deliver it, I put in a development method and a requirements repository built on QA and QC standards, which cut development and deployment cycle time by 40 percent. I also facilitated the executive steering committee.

Business Architect

Avanade (Accenture + Microsoft)

I did enterprise architecture inside the joint venture, across very different industries. For ConocoPhillips, I worked on a well production system built to work out whether a site was pulling everything it could. At MD Anderson, I did the business architecture for an electronic medical records system. At LendingTree, I worked on a technology strategy for building new product prototypes fast and wiring them into what already existed. And for Sonic Automotive, I built a ten-year technology roadmap that cut the time to add a new dealership by a third. This is where I learned what scale does to good intentions.

Principal Agile Coach & Consultant

A Strategy Consulting LLC

Through my own practice, I did agile transformation and technology roadmap work. For a UK client, I coached an agile transformation from identifying the pilot and training the product owner through to the agile governance that kept it running after the engagement ended. The real test of a transformation is whether it keeps running after the consultant leaves. That one did. Along the way, I taught Intro to Agile workshops to graduate MIS students at Nova Southeastern University as a guest lecturer.

Co-founder, Board Member, VP Agile Education

South Florida Agile Association

I co-founded a regional agile community and built its education program. I also co-organized Agile Open Florida and chaired the Agile Tools Summit and the Agile Transformation Summit, where I was the Release Train Engineer, coordinating volunteer teams, sponsors, suppliers and speakers. It was my first lesson in what I still believe: people learn fastest from each other. It's why I'm running peer learning sessions today.

Director of Project Management

Spafinder Wellness 365

I led the PMO's agile transformation across a wellness and digital commerce business, using Scrum, Kanban and SAFe. I launched and coached teams in-house, nearshore and offshore, and together we cut sprint planning and refinement time by two-thirds. The PMO's job changed from tracking projects to helping teams deliver.

Agile Coach, then Lead Portfolio Manager

USAA

I spent eight years inside one enterprise, coaching first, then running portfolio governance for Property and Casualty and helping stand up the PMO behind it. Long enough to see what sticks. The teams that changed how they worked kept the gains. The ones that adopted the ceremonies and kept the old decision rights went back.

Agile Coach and Release Train Engineer, contract

Marathon Petroleum

This is where the capacity story started, in Analytics and Insights. Buried in PI Planning, readiness, reporting and all the work around the work, I began running small AI experiments on my own workflow. AI has made it faster and less expensive to create first drafts, analyses, and plans, and the time went back into the parts of the role that still need a person: coaching, facilitation, alignment, judgment. That experience became the talk Evolving the RTE.

Head of Learning and Enablement

Outcomes360

At Outcomes360, I lead executive workshops, AI-Native and SAFe certifications, and learning and enablement programs. I initiated and championed the Outcomes-First AI Approach and F.A.S.T. Outcome Sprint, helping connect leadership decisions to a focused test of AI in real work. The assessments I build support those conversations by making current strengths and gaps visible.
